Regarding the Idaho Freedom Foundation Event
The Chateau des Fleurs was built by our family as a place for the community to enjoy, gather, celebrate and share ideas. The freedom to express ideas is central to the founding of our nation, and to the core of our beliefs in our business.
We have hosted and will continue to host civic and private events for an array of audiences, some we will agree with and some we will not. We believe that through respectful honest dialogue, our communities and humanity will grow stronger.
Our family and team members are comprised of a highly talented group of individuals from the United States, Iran, Pakistan, Poland, Vietnam, Mexico, Portugal, United Arab Emirates, France, Nigeria, Germany, Italy, Somalia and Switzerland. We appreciate the fact that each member of our team possesses a different set of religious beliefs and political ideals. The future vision includes a World Peace and Poetry Garden, a unique project where love and peace can flourish through the gathering and sharing of ideas and thoughts.
The arched gate to the garden will be adorned with a poem by the 13th century Persian poet, Saadi. This poem at one time hung in the lobby of the United Nations as a gift from Iran. It’s meaningful words have been recited for 900 years and they will live on as a welcome to all who enter this garden.
If you are part of an organization or are in need of a future event venue, we are more than happy to help make your vision a reality. We believe we are doing what we can to be a catalyst of change in turning our polarized political climate into one of open conversations.
Most sincerely and respectfully,
Susan Beckman-Roghani & Foad Roghani, Roshan Roghani-Ishaq & Danish Ishaq
Bani Adam, by Saadi
The poem is translated by M. Aryanpoor as:
Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you’ve no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain!
